Lot of people migrate to USA chasing American dream or fleeing persecution. My story is a little different. My husband obtained a company sponsored high-skilled work visa. He landed in Denver, Colorado. He was provided with an expense paid project.
I joined my husband in 6 to 8 months of time. I was pregnant when my husband moved to the USA. I stayed back to deliver the baby. We already have a 4-year-old daughter who was extremely premature. She has lot of health issues. I was working for a major airlines company in management. I didn’t intend to resign my company and move to the USA.
I took vacation and joined my husband in Denver, Colorado. I didn’t like the USA initially. I didn’t see people. Once my husband leaves for work, there’s nobody to talk to. My kids were small. I was busy. My days were going by very fast.
My older brother moved to USA long before. I used to tell him that I don’t like the place. I wanted to go back.
What changed is my kids. I don’t think anybody would believe if I say that my daughter used to get fever every month. From the time we came to USA, she did not get fever even once. Same with my son too.
We have not applied for green cards immediately. I told my husband to start the application immediately. I got job within 2 years. I didn’t know how the days went by. Within a blink of eye, we finished 5 years.
The first time we went to India is after 5 years.
My kids are healthy and happy.
